Dr. William Reid, a member of the Frederick Community College (FCC) Board of Trustees since 2023, was voted by his colleagues in June to assume the role of Board Chair upon the expiration of Trustee Ted Luck’s term as Chair. Dr. Reid is a former veterinarian specializing in infectious diseases research, military veteran, and lifelong resident of Frederick County. He will serve as Chair from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

Dr. Reid expressed gratitude for his election and the opportunity to work with fellow Board members, President Cheek, and the College community to build on FCC's strengths and continue advancing its mission. “One of my priorities is to help keep FCC future-focused and relevant to its students and the Frederick community at large,” said Reid. “I am particularly excited about the College's role in preparing students for a changing workforce, responding to the evolving needs of our community, and creating opportunities for students from all backgrounds to achieve their educational and career goals.”
